Professional and Family Support Training
We know caregivers need support. At Cedarcrest, we have a long tradition of supporting caregivers for children with complex medical and developmental needs through training opportunities that encourage and build best practices.
Professional Support
Cedarcrest offers information and caregiver training resources for medical providers, special educators, therapy professionals, our own staff, and parents or other direct caregivers.
Professional Workshops
Cedarcrest provides opportunities for advanced learning for special educators, therapists, and medical professionals on our staff and in the wider community.
Clinicals and Internships
As a site for clinical rotations for students in several nursing programs, we offer prospective nursing professionals exposure to pediatrics and to caring for children with medical complexity. We have ongoing relationships with nursing programs at Keene State College, River Valley Community College, and Vermont Technical College.
Cedarcrest also offers clinical affiliations for students in therapies, as well as internship opportunities for area college students pursuing academic studies in nutrition and dietetics, social services, special education, people operations, and marketing/communications.
Family and Home Support Training
Cedarcrest offers training programs to family members and direct caregivers to support a child’s transition between Cedarcrest and their home environment. Such sessions include feeding and swallowing, G-tube and tracheostomy management, and communication and educational technology.
