Ways to Give
Your charitable contribution to Cedarcrest is deeply appreciated. There are several ways to contribute to advance our mission. Please note that Cedarcrest has received a Gold level recognition by Candid (formerly Guidestar) for our transparency providing information about operations and the ways philanthropy helps the kids and organization.
Gifts can be made outright to support the children’s most pressing needs or designated to a specific special project or program.Â
Give Online or By Check
The most frequent ways members of our community support Cedarcrest are by mailing a check or by using our secure online link.Â
Contributions can be given as a one-time occurrence or as a recurring gift (monthly or annually) through our giving site, OneCause.Â

Give securities
Gifts of appreciated securities are a popular way to make a lasting impact on the lives of the children. You may offer your contribution for unrestricted needs (where the need is greatest) or for a specific project or need. Per Cedarcrest’s gift policies, all gifts of stock are sold and the funds used for current or future use as directed.Â

Gifts by will or bequest
Many years ago, Trustees created the Sawyer-Clement Heritage Society to honor our founders, Dot Sawyer and Eleanor Clement, and recognize those who have made a significant contribution to our Board Designated Quasi-Endowment, the Margaret “Peg” Knox Scholarship Fund, The Maria Olivo Endowed Fund, Cathy Gray Endowed Fund, or our General Endowed Fund.Â
Make a difference in the lives of future children at Cedarcrest through a bequest or other planned gift. Your gift is an impactful way to establish a lasting memorial to a friend or loved one, or create a lasting tribute to your family or others that will stand as your legacy.
A gift by will or bequest is the most popular way to create a lasting legacy. Since a bequest is completed only upon the death of a donor and/or surviving beneficiaries, it is also the easiest gift plan to modify.
Creating a bequest to Cedarcrest, Inc., involves the execution of a new will or, more typically, the addition of a codicil to an existing one. You may name Cedarcrest, Inc. as an outright, residual, or contingent beneficiary of a specific sum or a specific percentage of your estate, at your death or after the deaths of other beneficiaries.
For sample bequest language to discuss with your family and your attorney, read our Bequest Fact Sheet.

Retirement Assets
As a registered 501 (C)3 organization, we welcome distributions from IRAs. There are many benefits from choosing to gift proceeds from retirement savings. If you are over the age of 73, you can designate Cedarcrest directly to receive support from your IRA plan. Our IRS Tax ID is 02-0441832.Â
You may also designate Cedarcrest as a recipient of your retirement assets (401K/403B) as a bequest. You will need to request an update to your beneficiary form through your plan administrator.Â
In all instances, please contact Patty Farmer to help us facilitate your support.Â
We also welcome other ways to give, such as life income gifts, gifts using insurance, or gifts involving real estate. Such gifts not only can stand as your legacy to future generations but can benefit your heirs and reduce estate tax liability. We will gladly provide illustrations of how a variety of gift options might work in your specific circumstances. Let us know how we can help.
